19 Crimes Cabernet Sauvignon is an Australian Cabernet Sauvignon made by 19 Crimes. Originating in the Yarra Valley, this full bodied red is full of dark berries, chocolate and subtle oak. This Cabernet Sauvignon has good structure and well balanced tannins.
This wine was developed as part of the wine conglomerate Treasury Wine Estates’ The Offering series to honor the history of 19th century British prisoners who were convicted of one of many crimes and shipped to Australia aboard a prison ship. The bottles bear the mug shots of each of the criminals on the label, each telling its own individual story.
Delving into the depths of the actual wine itself, one will find it to be deep ruby red in colour with aromas of dark fruit, spice and supporting oak. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with flavours of ripe cassis, blackberry and subtle white pepper. The finish is well balanced, with a good length, and moderate tannins that provide a good structure to the wine, making it easy to enjoy.
The 19 Crimes Cabernet Sauvignon makes an easy drinking wine with an interesting story.
