Allegrini Amarone

Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella is a rich and full bodied red wine produced in the classical region of Valpolicella in Italy. This award-winning blend is made from the native grapes Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara. It undergoes a long fermentation and maceration process in order to extract all the character and complexity it can from the grapes. This extended ageing process also contributes to its soft tannins and smooth finish.

The wine is characterized by notes of dark fruits including cherries, plums, as well as spices such as cloves and cinnamon. Oak aging gives it a hint of dark chocolate and smoke. It has a balanced acidity level and a higher than usual alcohol content that make it exceptionally smooth and full-bodied.

This wine is best enjoyed with dishes such as beef short ribs, salmon, veal, and mushroom risotto. It also makes an excellent pairing for desserts such as apple pie and chocolate cake. It is a great wine to share with friends when served at cellar temperature.
