Auntie Rene's Plum Pudding Porter is a seasonal beer brewed by The Wild Beer Co. in England. This dark and malty beer has a sweet and complex flavor profile made from traditional English ingredients. It is full-bodied, with a roasted malt character of dark chocolate, toffee and caramel, plus the characteristic plum aroma of traditional English plum pudding.
The base of the beer is a full-bodied dark beer made with Maris Otter malt, dark crystal malt, and chocolate malt. These malty flavors are balanced by a hop presence of East Kent Goldings. The unique and flavorful character of plum pudding comes from the addition of traditional Christmastime ingredients such as seeded and finely chopped sultanas, and crushed vine fruits (raisins, sultanas and currants). To bring out the Christmassy flavor of the beer, a hint of warming spice is also added, with cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice.
