Basil Hayden's Toasted Barrel Bourbon is an 80-proof bourbon whiskey produced by Beam Suntory in the Kentucky Town of Clermont. Named in honor of the legendary Master Distiller Basil Hayden, who created the first bourbon whiskey using corn in the late 1700’s, this bourbon whiskey is created by blending two different mashbills of corn, rye, and barley. The aged bourbon is then finished in toasted oak barrels, which impart a distinct toasted oak flavor and aroma. Upon tasting, the flavor profile begins with a slight sweetness with notes of dark brown sugar, vanilla, and spices. Coconut, honey, and smoky nuances then unfold, leaving a long, smooth finish.
