Casa Silva Coleccion Carmenere is a red wine produced by Chilean winery Casa Silva, located in the heart of Colchagua Valley, Chile. This award-winning wine is created from vineyards that are 100% Carmenere, a grape variety that almost vanished in the 19th century due to the phylloxera epidemic, but was rescued and revived by Casa Silva. The Casa Silva Coleccion Carmenere wine has an intense ruby red color with purple nuances. On the nose, this inviting wine displays layers of flavors, including cassis, blueberries, and sweet spices. The wine has aromas of wild blackberries too, with a touch of earthy minerality. On the palate, the flavors of this wine are equally rich and intense. It has a velvety texture with ripe tannins and a longer finish. Casa Silva's Coleccion Carmenere also has good acidity that gives the wine complexity and balance.
