Cecchi Chianti Riserva DOCG is a long-aged, premium version of the established Chianti blend of grapes produced in the hills of Tuscany, Italy. This bottled wine is full-bodied with an intense yet well-rounded flavor that is achieved by allowing the blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Colorino and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to age for over three years in oak barrels. An additional aging time of six months occurs in bottles after it is blended. The visual presentation of this wine is a deep ruby red color and it has notes of raspberry and tobacco on the nose. Its powerful body is balanced by ripe tannins and a brilliant acidity. The finish is long and lingering, with hints of earth and spice. This fine Chianti is ideal for enjoying with meals based on red meats, poultry, game and mild cheeses. In an effort to preserve the quality of the Cecchi Chianti Riserva, it should be served early after opening to prevent oxidation.
