Château Pédesclaux 2018 is a Bordeaux blend produced from the historic Saint Estephe estate of the same name. The wine comes from a very old property, established in the 18th century, which was restored in recent years by the Lurton family. The vineyards of Château Pédesclaux are planted on mostly clay-limestone soils, and consist of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc. The 2018 vintage of Château Pédesclaux has an expressive and intense nose, with notes of ripe dark fruit, cassis and blackberry compote, as well as some herbal notes and a hint of cedar. On the palate, it is full-bodied and well structured, with a good grasp of tannins that provide supportive structure and length. The wine has a velvety texture that carries the core of ripe dark fruit flavors through to the finish, with a sense of freshness that brings a touch of vibrancy.
