The Cut Point Benrinnes 2008 is a single malt Scotch whisky that was released by independent bottler Gordon & Macphail. The whisky is made from malted barley from the Benrinnes Distillery and was matured for 8 years in refill casks. The whisky was bottled at a strength of 46% alcohol by volume and has a deep golden color. On the nose there are aromas of ripe orchard fruits, sweet vanilla and a hint of smoke. The flavor is smooth and slightly sweet with a rich, creamy texture. There are flavors of ripe fruit, honey, caramel and a hint of smoke. The finish is medium-long with a nice balance of sweetness and smokiness. This is a truly wonderful single malt whisky and is definitely worth seeking out.
