Dalmore 12 Year Old is a highly popular single malt whisky from the Dalmore Distillery, located in the Highlands of Scotland. This particular release is created using a combination of ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry-matured whisky, resulting in a dark amber hue and a rich, powerful nose that is reminiscent of dried fruit, oranges and dates, with notes of honey and nutmeg. On the palate, smooth and creamy flavours of coffee, oranges and sherry-soaked raisins combine with the return of nutmeg and dried fruit, while a sweet, lingering finish is present. As part of its 12-year ageing, Dalmore 12 Year Old is finished off in a first-fill American bourbon barrel, creating a whisky of smooth complexity and great balance.
