Decoy Pinot Noir is a dry red wine from California, produced by the Duckhorn Wine Company. The grapes used in this wine come from two California appellations, Sonoma County and the North Coast. Chosen for their natural ripeness, clustered among the coastal foothills, and bathed in sunshine, the vineyards of Sonoma Coast produce intense, energetic, and approachable wines that reflect the unique characteristics of the region. Each block of the vineyard is harvested separately, to ensure that only the finest grapes are included in the blend. The grapes used in making this Pinot Noir are harvested at night, immediately crushed and given a cool fermentation. This helps to maintain the fresh and vibrant flavors that are naturally present within the fruit. After fermentation, the wine is then aged for eight months in French oak barrels. This adds a depth of complexity to the wine, providing flavors of cherry, raspberry, and spice in harmony with the smooth tannin structure of this medium-bodied wine.
