Edradour Ballechin Sftc Bourbon 53%

The EDRADOUR Ballechin Sftc Bourbon 53% is a unique and high-quality single malt whisky released by the small, independent Edradour distillery. It has been fully matured in ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at a naturally high 53% ABV. This expression is the result of a unique touch of whisky-making, with 20-year-old ex-Bourbon casks being reinvigorated by Strictly Few Toasted Casks (SFTC). This meaning a small number of Oloroso Sherry Butts with a unique, charred interior are introduced to the ex-Bourbon barrels to reinvigorate the layers of wood and spice in the whisky. On the nose, the whisky has aromas of sweet oranges, crème brulee, oak, honey and wood smoke. On the palate, there are tasting notes of toffee, honeycomb, orchard fruits, baking spices and Sherry oak. The finish is long with a hint of leather, spice and nuttiness. This whisky is a complex and characterful dram, offering a unique combination of mature ex-Bourbon flavour and the delicious layers of Sherry cask influence.
