Elements of Islay - Peat Full Proof is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Scotch distiller Bowmore. It is distilled, matured and bottled on Islay, the southernmost island of the Inner Hebrides off the west coast of Scotland. The whisky is dark golden in color with a nose of peat and smoke. Its taste is a mix of smoky peatiness, with a hint of sweetness from the barley and the slightly salty character of the sea air. The finish is long and complex, with a lingering smokiness and a hint of spice. The Elements of Islay series is made up of several different single malts, all of which are intended to show off the range of flavors produced from peat smoke. Peat Full Proof is the strongest of the series, bottled at cask strength of 57% ABV. Peat Full Proof is a great whisky to sip and savor.
