Flor de Cana Clásico 5-Year Rum is a premium rum produced in Nicaragua. It has a light golden color, and a complex nose of dried fruits, spices, and herbs. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with a smooth, sweet finish. The flavor has notes of wood, toffee, roasted nuts, and caramel. This rum is made with estate-grown sugar cane and milled using the traditional Cuban method. The cane-juice is boiled to produce molasses which is then fermented using a fibrous strain of natural yeast. The fermented liquid is twice distilled in a copper pot-still, after which it is aged for at least five years in American oak barrels. Flor de Cana Clásico 5-Year Rum makes an excellent addition to a range of cocktails. Try mixing it with cold brew coffee for an iced coffee cocktail or add it to a classic mojito for a sweet flavor. It also makes a great sipper on its own or with a few drops of water to bring out the flavors.
