Glen Garioch is a Scotch whisky distillery located in the town of Oldmeldrum in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It was founded in 1797 by the Manson family who planted barley and built a small stone-built distillery in the valley of the Garioch. The distillery is known for its production of lightly peated malt whisky that is aged in oak casks for up to 20 years, with expressions using differing sherry or bourbon cask maturations. The distillery has won awards both nationally and internationally for its whiskies including awards at the International Wine and Spirits Competition, The Malt Maniacs Awards and the International Whisky Competition. Glen Garioch is a member of the Morayshire and Speyside Malting Cooperatives, an organisation which provides barley and malt for the whisky industry in Scotland. In 2014, the distillery was purchased by the Morrison family, owners of Bowmore, Auchentoshan, and Glasgow Scotch Whisky Ltd.
