Glenfarclas Family Cask 1996 S22 is an exceptionally rare whisky from the Speyside region of Scotland. It is an extremely small batch of only 340 bottles, and offers an incredibly complex and rich flavour of fruits and oak.
The whisky aged in a single sherry butt for twenty-two years, and was distilled in 1996 and bottled in 2018. This vintage whisky is made with barley entirely from the fields surrounding the distillery, and its unique flavor results from a blend of richly-aged whiskies.
Upon tasting, this whisky has a light-golden hue, and offers a hearty nose with notes of honey, lemon zest, and oak. On the palate, you’ll get a slightly tart fruitiness of apples, pears, and apricots, accompanied by warm spices. The finish extends to light notes of toffee and hazelnut, and a lingering oakiness.
This whisky is great to sip neat, or on the rocks with a cube or two. It is a perfect for celebrating special occasions, or to have when enjoying a nice evening. Its unique flavor is sure to delight whisky connoisseurs and novices alike.
